There are numerous compelling reasons to appreciate the awe-inspiring yet intimidating natural world around us.
In my earlier years, I often ignored nature, as I was preoccupied with evading it. I never considered myself an outdoorsy person—there were too many elements of the outside world I found unappealing, such as insects, the heat during summer, and wild animals. However, a few years ago, I embarked on a journey to cultivate a deeper respect for nature. Now, I can confidently say that I take time to appreciate the stunning beauty that surrounds me instead of retreating from what once seemed frightening.
This transformation began at the start of 2019 when I made a New Year's resolution to become more mindful of my life. I aimed to acknowledge not only the significant and minor details but also the subtleties in between. My objective was to stop rushing through my days, consumed by the next item on my to-do list, and instead, slow down to appreciate the world around me. Since then, I've genuinely become more aware of the Earth's beauty.
The takeaway from my experience: observing nature is a profoundly peaceful and beneficial activity that everyone should engage in. I have discovered that simply embracing your surroundings can lead to numerous positive outcomes. Many of us, like I once did, often view nature as inconvenient or negative; however, I can attest that it is, in fact, refreshing and full of wonder.

A quiet walk outdoors allows us to notice aspects of nature we previously overlooked—elements that are indeed unique and beautiful. Ultimately, mindfulness is about taking the time to recognize the specialness of life.

Nature has existed since the dawn of time and isn't going away anytime soon, so why not learn to appreciate it? Nature surrounds us every day, presenting a magnificent sight. I'm not suggesting that you transform into an extreme nature enthusiast or go camping every weekend—believe me, I'm not that person either.
All I'm advocating is that life is short, the world is beautiful, and it's time to open your eyes to see it.
