The weight of profound grief and loss has taught me that the only thing I can control is myself, despite my futile attempts to manage the actions of others. This realization extends to my responses to life's challenges, losses, and overwhelming sorrow.

Life can be unpredictable, and my emotional instincts often clash with my logical understanding. I recognize that I cannot fully comprehend another person's internal struggles, but I am acutely aware of my own neurodivergent essence—a storm that many might label as a disability. This storm is often viewed as excessive or unwelcome by those who prefer the stability of the familiar.

This tempest is frequently misunderstood and even feared. This reaction is understandable; being different can be perceived as a threat, and it's human nature to gravitate towards what feels safe and predictable. No one knows this better than someone on the autism spectrum.

But it is this very storm, with all its fervor and energy, that possesses the potential to enact positive change in the world. It is a force that loves profoundly, lives authentically, and exhibits unwavering loyalty. It embodies a fearless determination to advocate for what is just, often standing alone in a crowd—or even against it—challenging societal norms and voicing what many wish they could express.

To truly exist beyond conventional boundaries—beyond what is deemed "correct" or "acceptable"—is both a gift and a burden. Even in moments of vulnerability, when it feels as though the walls are closing in, I remain committed to embracing my authentic self.
