The Devil, Knowledge, and the Pursuit of Truth

Written on

Chapter 1: Understanding the Devil and Knowledge

Many people mistakenly simplify the Devil as just a horned figure, but this notion is far more intricate and thought-provoking. The Devil, our darker self under examination, is frequently associated with malevolence. However, what if we viewed it instead as a reflection of the voids created by imposed truths, a layered comprehension of knowledge? Isn't that a perspective that piques your curiosity?

In contrast, God is often viewed as the embodiment of goodness, which can be interpreted as representing a state of relentless pursuit for Truth. This journey is driven by both curiosity and faith. The interrelationship between these concepts creates a cyclical dance of existence. One might argue that our existence begins in the absence of Truth.

Like breadcrumbs that guide us from a shadowy forest, each piece of knowledge, or subjective Truth, leads to more questions and new voids. It's analogous to a flickering light; when it goes out, it reveals itself as an illusion—potentially perilous for anyone observing.

Yet, in our quest for knowledge, we must apply a crucial filter to that subjective Truth. We must evaluate whether that truth is genuinely Objective. The pursuit of Objective Truth is the ultimate goal; it does not generate further questions but instead begins to provide answers. It's akin to an everlasting trail of light piercing through the deep darkness.

But can we select our stance? Absolutely. The moment you cease to inquire, you've made your choice. We all arrive at this juncture eventually. Is this the right choice? Certainly not. Rejecting the pursuit of Truth is akin to dismissing the divine, effectively telling God, "I'm sorry, but I'm no longer interested in seeking Truth."

Science, as the custodian of Absolute Truth, serves as the bridge between Faith and the Divine. Those who dismiss evil often unknowingly embrace ignorance, and such ignorance can be a threat to both individuals and society. Many confuse evil with ignorance.

Evil functions as a tool, a double-edged sword—employed defensively against the manifestations of ignorance. It is either wielded unconsciously by the ignorant or intentionally by those who actively seek to do harm. In contrast, ignorance is a conscious decision made by individuals who choose not to think, thereby disrespecting the gift of life.

What distinguishes a meaningful life from one that fades into obscurity? The wise application of knowledge. Mastery over Truth separates the worthy from the unworthy. True Evil, just like True Good, can only be executed by those who possess profound knowledge.

Knowledge bestows power over those who lack it, and due to our societal structures, it can lead to corruption. This ancient system functioned effectively when resources were scarce, but now, with the surge in population and knowledge, the system is inevitably due for transformation.
